ABOUT ME
I am currently studying for a l4 Professional Diploma in Creative Enterprise at Fareham College where I am learning how to start and run a small photographic business.
The camera that I use is a Nikon d5600 with my main lens being an 18 to 300 mm telephoto. I post most of my work on Instagram (Alastair.H_Photography) and Facebook, I post some of my favourite photos to a Nikon group for criticism (allowing me to improve my photography skills) as most people in that group are professionals.
I also occasionally like to write short stories and poems, however, I do not post them on Instagram.
CAPTURE 52
I am currently partaking in a photography challenge called capture 52. Capture 52 is a challenge where you get to set a theme every week and have to take a photo corresponding to that theme. For example, one of the challenges we had to do was use the effect of "bokeh". For these challenges, you can only take the photo one week before or any time after that, as long as it's not after that year of capture 52. Capture 52 started as the Dogwood Photography Challenge which went on until 2019 when it was taken over and is now called capture 52. This challenge helps to improve my photography skills and inspires creativity. I have also been getting constructive criticism witch I use to improve my images.
